Marissa Clarke is a fourth year PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh. Her research explores the phenomenology of yoga, the body, and sound. She works across the academic disciplines of art, philosophy, anthropology, and religion. Her artistic practice involves field recording, experimental sound, and performance. She has varied research interests which includes but is not limited to: the philosophy of perception, modern yoga, somatics, and sound studies. In 2024, she was a Visiting Doctoral Researcher in Sound Arts at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre. Her work is funded by the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership.
