Ghislaine Boddington is an internationally recognised artist-researcher, curator and presenter, pioneering the convergence of the body and digital worlds since the early 90s. Her groundbreaking work in dance and body-responsive technologies has advanced virtual embodiment, digital intimacy and hybrid presence through her convergence of movement, telepresence and immersive experiences. As Creative Director of shinkansen and body>data>space, she has led renowned projects like Future Physical, Robots and Avatars, me and my shadow and Collective Reality, positioning the living body as the essential canvas for digital interaction. Recognised in 2017 with the SAT IX Immersion Experience Visionary Pioneer Award, Ghislaine’s latest research on AI-driven bio-twins, supported by the University of Greenwich and Kingston University, explores digital human twins as personal future companions. She regularly writes and presents for BBC World Service, sharing her insights on the ‘hyper-enhanced’ human, while championing equity for women in tech as a Trustee for Stemettes Futures.
