Maggie Bain is an actor, voice actor, movement director, and immersive XR practitioner, with nearly 20 years of expertise in physicality and collaborative storytelling across stage, screen, video games, and the immersive arts.

They are currently working with LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) to design motion capture training across their professional acting courses and explore the creative possibilities of the technology.

Since 2015, Maggie has been a practitioner with internationally renowned theatre company Frantic Assembly, delivering physical theatre projects and professional training globally.

They are a creative consultant for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Digital Department, exploring the integration of performance capture and XR technologies into live theatre.

Their own project SHAPESHIFTER (in development) is a location-based, mixed-reality experience that uses live performers to guide audiences through VR headsets, exploring hidden aspects of nature to challenge human notions of gender and identity.
