22 May 2024
This event was an introduction to the rapidly evolving landscape of digital technologies and the transformative possibilities they offer for the creation and presentation of dance.
This half-day event provided a unique opportunity for dance artists to gain insights and share experiences about how emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Motion Capture, Virtual Production and Artificial Intelligence are being integrated into choreographic practice and dance productions.
Through a series of presentations, hands-on demos and open conversations, attendees learnt more about what these technologies can offer. With contributions from a range of companies and creators working at the cutting-edge of technological innovation in dance, this event raised awareness around the opportunities and challenges of engaging with new technologies and questioned what tools are needed to better enable dance artists to integrate them into their practices.
